Photo-Me rolls out encrypted photo ID technology across Ireland30-03-2017
Photo-Me is today launching a rollout of the Company’s encrypted photo ID technology across Ireland in partnership with the Irish Government. The launch will see Photo-Me’s secure digital upload system rolled out to 150 photobooths, growing to 300 throughout Ireland by the end of 2017.
Through this system, Photo-Me is able to provide its customers with a convenient, easy to use and cost effective system for the digital transfer of ID photos as part of the online passport application. In addition to the four printed ID photos that customers usually receive at its photobooths, customers using the online service will receives a unique passport photo code and instructions on how to complete the online passport application. This unique code allows the applicant to access their ID photo on the Irish passport application website www. DFA.IE/passportonline, and then attach it the online passport application.
The launch will see Photo-Me’s 100% secure digital upload system rolled out to 150 photobooths, growing to 300 throughout the Republic of Ireland by the end of 2017.
The photobooths are being rolled out with Photo-Me premier partners: Topaz, SuperValu, Tesco and An Post, as well as a number of shopping centres nationwide. Upon completion of the rollout, which is expected by the end of 2017, 98% of the population of the Republic of Ireland will live within 5km of a Photo-Me secure upload ID photobooth.
